I called Northern and asked if it would work on a single cylinder (I've seen alot of tachs that have to be set for the # of cylinders) and they said that they primarily sell these for use with single cylinder lawn mower engines. They also another one for 4-strokes that fire every revolution (same part number except substitute a 6 for the 2) (same price). How often do our Savages fire the plug????
